EARLY IN SEPTEMBER
(8/30/98)

Early in September
I'm gonna sleep until
The break of day.

As far as I remember,
Looking for a needle
In the hey, now.

They're running people down in the street
As a warning,
You pull his mask off and his face is
Made of rubber now.

Nobody listens, no one would believe you anyway

A cloud of dust was rising, blocking out the sun
Right from the sky.

The Birds were falling like sticks and stones,
Choking on the air until they died.

I was pretty nervous, no idea what
Was going to happen.

Heard the sound of thunder, there was a flash of light
And everything went black.

Finally when I got there
It wasn't such a big deal after all.

They had the face of skeletons,
They handed out the final key.

There was a Haven,
To keep you there and happy ever after.

I wanted to go there,
But just before I did
I fell asleep.
